AI and data rules in Tennessee.
Tennessee Information Protection Act (in effect July 1, 2025): a consumer-privacy law that, per legal summaries, applies mainly to businesses with more than $25 million in revenue that also handle large volumes of consumer data. Most businesses our size fall below it, but check.
ELVIS Act (in effect July 1, 2024): protects a person's voice and likeness from unauthorized use, including by AI. Don't clone a real person's voice for your phone agent without permission.
SB 1580 (in effect July 1, 2026): bars AI from presenting itself as a qualified mental-health professional, with penalties per violation.
